We asked 500 porn stars what advice they had for someone who wanted to be a porn star and work in the adult industry, this is what they said…
ABBIE MALEY
To make sure they don’t think porn will negatively affect any of their future goals. Also I would tell them to make sure they have thick skin. This quote pretty much sums up any advice I would give, “Feel compliments as deeply as you feel insults.”
Do your research, have a backup plan, respectfully talk to people already doing it, and don’t be afraid to pay them for their time, if they’re giving you advice.
Go out go get some pictures taken, go get yourself an agent don’t waste your time writing to porn stars. Just take it seriously treat it as a business.
Be prepared to hustle constantly. A lot of people think this work is fast, easy money, but it’s not. You have to work your ass off and dedicate a lot of time and energy into it. Observe the people who are doing well and see what you can learn from them. Always be professional. If you’re just in it purely for sex or to replace intimacy, you probably won’t do well.
Don’t get into it for the wrong reasons and be patient. Success doesn’t happen over night and it takes time to build a platform. On the other hand, I see a lot of guys and girls spring into things and they don’t realize how much work it really is. 90% of things happen off camera rather than on. You have to set aside time to edit, promote, manage your social media, tackle DM’s and even more on top of that. I notice a lot of “perfromer” don’t even take any of that into consideration and they’re just here for a quick fuck. It’s easily noticeable from the content they produce and the way they approach other models on platforms. There’s a time and place for that but it isn’t here
