Penny Barber: It’s a touching, classic story: I was eighteen and needed money.
How did you create the name?
Penny Barber: There’s an old Disney movie from 1977 called The Rescuers. The little girl in it is named Penny. At the time, I looked a bit like the character: I wore overall dresses, had pigtails, and was into teddy bears. I mean, I was barely eighteen. As for Barber, the woman who was training me to be a pro domme pitched it. I didn’t want to be so rude as to solicit advice, then eschew it, so…my name’s Penny Barber!

What’s your favorite sexual position on & off camera & why?
Penny Barber: Missionary is so pleasurable. I know it’s basic but gazing into my partner’s face during sex intensifies my orgasms. I want to look at him, to run my hands up and down his perfect body. But the missionary position doesn’t look great on camera, mostly showing a man’s back. On camera, I like to 69.

Penny Barber: I had to teach a room full of people how to waltz before an orgy scene. It was surreal.

Penny Barber: There may not be a degree in adult entertainment available, but an informal education will still benefit you. Sign up for Fulltime Filmmaker. Watch YouTube tutorials. Read anything you can find on film production, marketing, design, etc. Right now, I’m reading a book on production design and it’s more applicable than I would have guessed it would be.
Have you ever been grossed out during a shoot?
Penny Barber: The only times I’ve been absolutely disgusted have been when someone on set thought it was a good idea to expose their bigotry and go off on a racist rant. It was unprofessional and cringe-inducing.
