Tell us a bit about yourself

Romy Indy: My name is Romy, this is also my real first name, and I turned 21 a few months ago. I was born on January 22, 1999, which makes me a Aquarius. I’m 1.76cm and I’m half Surinamese, half Dutch. I would describe myself as cheerful, motivated, friendly, caring, responsible.

Romy Indy: I grew up with my mom (who is 41 now) and little brother (who is 18 now). My dad I didn’t grew up with, I started having contact with him when I was around 15. I was also very close with my grandmother, who died a few years ago (cancer). My grandmother was as a second mother to me. I was always a cheerful girl, very hyper, and naughty. I remember being grounded a lot and I had to make extra hours at school because I was always talking in classes. Romy Indy: I started shooting in Holland, with the companies Meiden van Holland, Kim Holland and Secret Circle

Romy Indy: My name was made up by the company of Kim Holland actually. I went there for my first shoot, but didn’t have an artist name yet in my mind, so we came up with Indy randomly. After my first movie came out, and it went viral in Holland because I used to model/beauty pageants and dance in music clips before porn, a lot of people ‘exposed’ my real name, Romy, so I decided to make it Romy Indy to not confuse anyone. But now I like it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Romy Indy: I hope to win a porn award one day, really. My dream was to shoot for Vixens, but I already made this dream come true in January (thanks to Julmodels agency!). So now my new dream is to win a award, or be nominated for one!

My Favorite Pornstar: What do you enjoy most about being a pornstar?

Romy Indy: Good sex, traveling, meeting new people (actors, but also fans sometimes), learning scripts, acting. I think I love all! Most of all I love acting.

Romy Indy: I had a lesbian scene once and it didn’t smell really fresh down there, so I asked the actress politely to clean ourselves (both). I think this is the best way to handle a situation as this. Just stay calm, and clean yourself.

My Favorite Pornstar: There is often a stigma around the adult industry, has this affected you and if it did how did you handle it?

Romy Indy: Yes, when I first started my career, I got a lot of hate messages from Dutch people, disagreeing with my choice. They told me I was too pretty to be in porn, and too intelligent. As if intelligent people, or good looking people can’t be in porn? They told me I should continue studying and be a Victoria Secret Model. I also had people threatening me, because they felt like I as a mixed woman, shouldn’t make ‘my people feel ashamed for me’

My Favorite Pornstar: What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?

Romy Indy: Start in your own country first, for a good company, before you travel to other countries and companies. This will help you make up your mind; what do you like? What do you dislike? What do you want to do? And what not at all? This really helped me stand up for myself in foreign countries.

Romy Indy: My Secret Place – Vixen. Vixen is my dream company, and I really enjoyed shooting for them a lot. The people, the team, the actors, everyone was great! I travelled 2 whole days to the Caribbean for this shoot, and it was a long shooting day with not a lot of sleep, but the results where beyond amazing and I enjoyed every second of being there.

Romy Indy: If you could change one thing in the industry, what would it be? And my answer would be more safe sex. It might sound weird or stupid, but I would enjoy the shoots more with a condom. Of course everybody test every 2 weeks, but you’re still putting your health out of risk.
