Tell us a bit about yourself

Kali Roses: I am 24 years old. I live currently in Denver, Colorado. I was born and raised in Corona, California. I do porn, obviously. I make my own videos. I have my own website. I am in a movie for Amazon Prime, that I just finished. I make my own music for fun. I think that’s the gist of it.

Describe yourself growing up?

Kali Roses: I was a very rebellious kid. I was also very promiscuous. I loved to have sex. I loved to experiment and experience new things. So this career kinda came easy. I started off webcamming at 18, with a girlfriend one of my best friends. And I decided to do Girl-Girl with her. Then, I did Solo. Then, I did Boy-Girl. Then, I got into porn.

Kali Roses: So my height, I’m 5’4”. I weigh 110 (lbs). I am a size 32C, currently. I am a 25 (inch) waist.

How did you start within the industry?

Kali Roses: So, basically, I was working full-time at Nordstrom. I was going to school at the time. And, I ended up hating my life. l One of my best friends was like, ‘Why don’t we webcam?’ I was like, ‘What is that? What does that mean? You just have a camera and somebody just watches you in your room? Can they watch you sleep? I’m so confused.’ She’s like, ‘No, we do things, they tip you.’ Then, she showed me the ropes. We did Girl-Girl. Then, I did Boy-Girl. And then, I got a deal for Twistys in 2016 for a Solo. And then, in the next year in 2017, I started porn. And I’ve been doing porn for 3 years.

How did you create the name?

Kali Roses: Umm, so funny. I created my name from a shoe brand called Cali. And my friend had a mess of a room, and she was like, ‘You need a first name. You need a last name.’ And I’m like, ‘Alright, how ‘bout Cali, but with a ‘K’ and then Roses, because I had- Well, first it was Rose, but then I got my name trademarked to Roses, because there’s a Christian country singer named Cali Rose. So, I had to change that. And, I didn’t find out until after I’d tattooed my legs, but luckily I could change ‘Rose’ to ‘Roses,’ so it all worked out.

Speaking of your tattoos, not only do you have your porn name tattooed on you, but you’ve got beautiful rose tattoos all over your back. Would you tell us a little more about them?

Kali Roses: Yeah, I do. I got the first half of my back piece when I was 18. I got a quote that says, “Count the garden by the roses. Never by the fallen petals.” And, its kinda like a look at the world half full and not half empty type of thing. I’ve had a lot of family members and friends pass away in my life, so each rose represents somebody that’s passed away. That’s how the roses came about. And then all the other ones were just spontaneous.

What do you enjoy most about being a pornstar?

Kali Roses: I love having sex. I love trying new things. I really love acting. So its really fun to roleplay and act. Its also opened a lot of doors for me, besides making me a lot of money. Yeah, I love it. I will never work at Nordstrom again.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Kali Roses: I do plan on going back to school. I think I want to do interior design and be a real estate agent, but I want to finish my Associate’s degree. Get that finished and go from there. But I still wanna do porn until I get my degree and all that great stuff. But, yeah, maybe be a real estate agent and interior designer, ya know?

Have you ever been grossed out during a shoot and if so how did you handle it?

Kali Roses: I have such a funny story. So there was this girl I was doing a scene, and there was this girl who just had the worst BO in the world. Like, the worst. The other girl I was working with because it was 3 girls and a guy. The other girl I was working with was like talking so much shit. She’s like, ‘I’m not touching her!’ and all this stuff. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God, how are we going to get through this scene? I have no idea.’

So me, being nice, was like, ‘It is hot-‘ It was in Florida I’m like ‘Why don’t we take a shower together?’ [wink] I watched her take a shower. I showered with her. And I was like, ‘She still stinks. I have no idea what the problem is.’ But, yeah, I mean I tried to handle it as nicely and as best I could. I still did the thing, but it was quite an experience, for sure.

Are there any sex acts that you haven’t shot yet but want to?

Kali Roses: I’d love to do more domination stuff. I’ve done some things for my website. I had a submissive in Florida, when I lived in Florida. I really haven’t done anything for those types of companies at all, or for my career really. Besides for my website. So I think that would be fun to explore.

Has the stigma around the adult industry, has this affected you?

Kali Roses: I feel like a lot of people don’t look at the porn industry as a positive, but I feel like I stay true to my beliefs. I believe that everybody has sex. It’s a natural thing. I feel like some people think differently of it, because one, they aren’t comfortable in their own bodies, and two, because they don’t have the opportunity to get paid to have sex. A lot of people do it for free, ya know? Etcetera.

When I run into people like that, I just kind of remind myself that I have my own morals, I am my own person, and I stay true to my beliefs, and I don’t let that get to me. I have maybe in the past. But I really think its not worth my time, because one, you can’t change people’s minds and two, I know the facts. So its like, I’m just going to stick to what I know, ya know? So I don’t let it bother me.

What's the weirdest thing that you’ve been asked to do during a shoot?

Kali Roses: For a shoot, I had to, umm it was like a skit. It was kinda weird. There was no fucking, it was like a fetish skit. They had somebody behind me, trying to pour water to make it look like I’d peed my pants. It was in a tube, in my pants, and the guy had to be behind me and push this… machine or something. And then, it literally came out of pants and made it look like I’d peed my pants in class, but it was like so funny. It was pretty weird. I was like, ‘Somebody’s really into this?’ Because you couldn’t even see my vagina. It wasn’t that kind of fetish. It was just like, you see… ‘wet.’ Like I’m supposed to be ‘peeing.’ I was just thinking it was so weird.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?

Kali Roses: I would give someone advice and tell them to take the job seriously and think if you want to do this long term or not. Because, there’s a lot of opportunities and there’s a lot of ways you can grow and do more things from this industry and this field. So like if I had a ‘do-over,’ I wish someone would’ve told me ‘Take this job seriously. Put your all into everything.’ Not that I haven’t, but you know. I wish someone had told me that. Or given me a warning that I could’ve used this even more to my advantage, do you know what I mean?

What hobbies & interests do you have outside of the adult industry?

Kali Roses: Well, I’ll start with the feature film. I was a lead in a movie for Amazon Prime called THE SPIDER. It’ll be out hopefully by the end of this year (2020). I was working on it for 2 years. I was a seductress that killed men and I had an alter-ego that I was playing.
