Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Lana Violet: I am Lana Violet, I have been in the adult business, adult industry for over 10 years. I started in the porn business and I’ve been in different iterations of it since stripping, camming, and I’m most recently a professional dominatrix.

What are your stats/measurements?

Lana Violet: I am 34B 36/38 height 5’0″ weight 115 lbs.

How did you start within the industry?

Lana Violet: I wanted to be a stripper I’ve been wanting to be a stripper since I was 13, I was looking for stripper gigs on Sexy Jobs.com but I kept getting referrals or suggestions, emails to do porn work and that wasn’t something that I was interested or considered. A little short story I was sitting in my car in traffic and I randomly picked up this number, before it was illegal to not be on your phone in the car or driving. It was my first agent we hit it off and I met her in this magical place called The Valley, San Fernando Valley, and she told me more about the business.

For me the business was Jenna Jameson, was blonde, big tits so I didn’t consider porn anything else other than that. So when she was telling me about Asian niches, petites and spinners, and the kind of money I could make that got me interested, and from there I started in porn.

Can you tell us about your first shoot?

Lana Violet: I think my very first professional shoot was for Voyeur Media, with Jack Napier, so an interracial it was a really god experience I remember being in the makeup chair and having a really good time with the makeup artist she was really sweet nice. Jack Napier was such a gentleman, really kind, not forceful, not aggressive at all everyone on set was kind and gentle to me. I had a fun time! No complaints.

Can you tell us about your most recent shoot?

Lana Violet: I recently shot for Wicked and I played a bossy bitch! Which I felt was very appropriate I mostly do Dom work now. I consider myself mostly a professional dominatrix, so that was fun! It was fun ad-libbing we did a scripted scene but you could ad-lib here and there so with my co-performer Van Wylde, I was a TA before I got back into pro shoots, at that time I met Van Wylde, he’s always been fun on set to be on set with him and working with him as a fellow talent that was a fun experience.

Can you tell us about the dominatrix side of your work?

Lana Violet: I started off as a submissive and I got introduced to it in the porn business I was very hesitant, I did not consider myself a dominant person, a dominant woman. My very first BDSM dom, fem dom scene was with Glen King, for Mean Bitches.com it was nerve-racking, and from there I met another director who trained me and introduced me to the whole BDSM fetish world. I found my rhythm and since 2014/15 I’ve been building my skill set ever since. I don’t even see myself as a submissive anymore I’m purely dominant roles at this point in my career and life.

What would you be doing if you weren't creating adult content?

Lana Violet: I would be doing something in health and wellness I’d probably be traveling, teaching yoga, and pilates, I love moving the body, and exercising, I’m fascinated with human anatomy I’d be doing something within that field.

What do you enjoy most about working in the adult industry?

Lana Violet: Sexual liberation, and creativity. It allows me to explore a side of myself that I can’t conventionally portray or express in social norms, and regular society.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Lana Violet: I see myself living in another country, learning or have learned at least one other language and hopefully having my own homestead by then.

Looking back at your career is there anything that you would do differently?

Lana Violet: I was pretty wild and young and naive back then, so I pretty much anything and everything without really considering the business side of it. If anything if I would have done anything differently it would have to been more serious about the business side of it.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?

Lana Violet: I would say do your research first and foremost know that this is forever it’s not necessarily if people are going to find out it’s when. I remember when someone told me that really brought perspective. Being aware of that and doing your due diligence, your research go to an actual agency as opposed to just asking or emailing or commenting on other talents pages. And be serious about it, if you really want to get into it do your research and due diligence.

What would you change about the adult industry?

Lana Violet: That’s a loaded question, I used to say no free porn I think it’s (inaudible) but how the porn is distributed and I don’t have an answer to that.

Has the stigma around the adult industry affected you?

Lana Violet: When I was taking a break people in the streets found out about what I did and I was completely stigmatised and judged for it. That was unfortunate in the sense that there was a part of me that was exploring other aspects, talents, and skills that I have but the porn, completely overshadowed it. People ask me if I’m ashamed of it. I’m not! People think because I don’t talk about it I’m ashamed of what I do, it’s less that I’m ashamed of it I just don’t care to be oppressed by people’s opinions. Because people will have an opinion, it’s unfortunate that it’s ingrained and constantly repetitive stigma of porn that it’s bad, it’s evil. Is put out there without having some empathy or understanding.

What's the weirdest thing that you've been asked to do during a shoot?

Lana Violet: At this point, nothing’s weird to me, I would say something that’s not common, maybe not on a shoot. I can’t think of anything weird on a shoot. I would say custom-wise, playing with my belly button, and licking armpits, it’s not weird to me because I get requested that a lot. I know that’s not a very common thing, it’s not on the top 5 PornHub searches.

Have you ever been grossed out during a shoot?

Lana Violet: Yes, a girl showed up with her makeup from the shoot before. I’m a big sticker on hygiene!

What hobbies & interests do you have outside of the adult industry?

Lana Violet: I’m very into fitness, health, and wellness, I go on deep dives and rabbit holes on YouTube and Reddit, on anything from science to economics to philosophy.

Do you use sex toys? If so which ones?

Lana Violet: They’re not my favorite, it’s not preferred but if I did I love Lovense I would say they are top quality one of my favorites. Anything from them to be honest.

To date which porn scene are you most proud of? And why?

Lana Violet: When I hear that question the first one that comes to mind is my gang bang. My one and only gang bang and two BJJ gang bangs.
