Tell us a bit about yourself.

Serenity Cox: I am Serenity Cox, a Canadian adult content creator and actress from Toronto. Since entering the scene in 2020 I have worked with major production houses Brazzers and Vixen Media Group while continuing to create my own independent content for which I have won multiple Pornhub Awards. Most recently I have signed with Vixen as an exclusive contract star.

How did you start in the industry?

Serenity Cox: My husband and I started filming and documenting our sexual adventures 4 years ago when we decided to start a new journey together exploring the hotwife dynamic. The footage was initially for our own enjoyment but then we began sharing our footage on FetLife, and later on Pornhub in 2021 to reach a broader audience as we loved the added excitement and feedback from viewers. We soon realised how popular our genre was as the views kept on coming. I started an OnlyFans account in 2022, and I ventured into my first professional scenes when Vixen reached out last year.

How did you create the name?

Serenity Cox: I wanted a name that was pretty and sensual with a spicy last name. I also may have been inspired by the spaceship Serenity from an old favourite sci-fi series Firefly.

What do you enjoy most about being a porn star?

Serenity Cox: Becoming a porn star was never the original plan, it all just sort of happened, and I am grateful for this new unexpected path. But as for why I uploaded that first video, I really wanted to show off the joy and fun of sex and hoped it might inspire others to explore their own sexuality.

Can you tell us about your first shoot?

Serenity Cox: My first professional shoot was with Vixen Media Group for their MILFY channel. Filming a scene with an entire production crew is certainly different from shooting amateur content with my husband but I had an absolute blast. Everyone was professional and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. It was even more fun than I had expected.

How are you improving as a performer?

Serenity Cox: I learn something new with each partner and with each scene. Sometimes it’s technical like how to look best for the camera, and sometimes it’s something physical like a new position or style I may not have experienced before. I take something away from each new experience and each individual performer.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Serenity Cox: While I don’t still see myself performing in front of the camera in 5 years, I would love to still be involved with the adult industry in some form. I like the idea of being part of something that helps destigmatize the industry and makes it a fun and positive experience for everyone involved.

Serenity Cox: Hands down I love classic cowgirl, on camera because I can show off my ass and my partner’s goods. And off camera because it hits all the right spots for me and there’s something very intense about looking in my partners eyes while being in control of the pleasure.

If you weren't creating adult content what would you be doing?

Serenity Cox: Prior to my success in the adult industry I was working what I considered my dream profession. I left earlier this year to focus solely on adult content creation when juggling both became too hectic. So I can say with confidence that I would happily still be doing that if I wasn’t creating adult content, and may find a way to incorporate both into my life again in the future.

Are there any sex acts that you want to shoot?

Serenity Cox: I’d love to shoot more larger group scenes. I mostly shoot mmf threesomes which I love but adding a few more bodies to the mix could be fun. Vixen has multiple brands I have yet to work with, so I am excited to explore these in the coming months.

Which porn star would you most like to work with?

Serenity Cox: As cliche as it sounds, I’d love to shoot a scene with Johnny Sins, purely because when people find out what I do “have you banged Johnny Sins?” is often the first thing people ask. He’s also incredibly attractive. And for female stars, I would love to collaborate with another super hot legend like Brandi Love.

What would you change about the adult industry?

Serenity Cox: I have been lucky, I went straight from filming my own content with my husband to professional filming with Vixen and Brazzers, two of the most respected porn producers out there. However, I know that not everyone is so lucky, but I wouldn’t change anything about the experience I’ve had in the industry.

Has the stigma around the adult industry affected you?

Serenity Cox: Only in the beginning when I wanted to tell key people in my life about this new, beautiful and exciting adventure I was starting. Porn is very personal and means many different things to different people so it was hard to know who would embrace it, question it or object to it. However, at this point everyone in my life knows about and it’s no longer something I worry about sharing. I’ve discovered how lucky I am to have a very supportive network of friends and family who are open to having conversations with me to work through destigmatising the industry.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?

Serenity Cox: Shoot what you enjoy and what you’re comfortable with. Don’t do something you don’t feel good about because you think it’s what people want to see. So far I have only created the type of porn I want to make, and I feel that it really does come across and makes scenes more enjoyedable to watch for the viewer.

What hobbies and interests do you have outside of the industry?

Serenity Cox: I love to keep active, when I am not filming you will typically find me out running or cycling along nature trails. Sadly, being in Canada you will only find me doing this half the year.

Do you use sex toys? If so which ones?

Serenity Cox: I have lots of sex toys, one for every occasion, however I love just a basic little vibrator wand, something to get me there but not too fast.

Do you watch porn? If so what type?

Serenity Cox: If I want to get excited I’ll usually pull up one of my amateur scenes and reminisce about that, at this point I have lots to choose from.
