Yhivi
Can you tell us a bit about yourself
Yhivi: My name is Yhivi. 🙂 I was born and raised in Los Angeles.
What are your stats/measurements?
Yhivi: Height 5’1″ weight 115 lbs 33.5″- 25.5″-38.5″.
How did you start within the industry?
Yhivi: Before creating porn (in 2013), I sold panties on Craigslist. From there, I did live cam shows and clip selling and eventually contacted some studios (in 2014).
How did you create the name?
Yhivi: I knew what I wanted my name to sound like phonetically (Evie), and I just tried to come up with something unique that I liked the look of.
Tell us about your first shoot? Was it what you expected?
Yhivi: My first studio shoot was with kink.com. I intentionally reached out to this studio as my first shoot because I liked that they had the before and after interviews — it felt more real to me and safer than porn shot by other studios, which didn’t do the same. I had a personal interest in exploring more BDSM, too, so it was an easy decision in that regard, too.
It was really exciting to be flown out for my first studio shoot. They picked me up from the airport and some other talent and brought us to the armory. It was pretty incredible to go into the vast building dedicated to shooting all sorts of porn. I was nervous, but I felt like I was in great hands. It was a great day and the first of many there. I feel fortunate to have been able to experience that era for Kink.
Can you tell us about your most recent shoot?
Yhivi: My most recent shoot was my second anal scene since returning to studio shoots after taking a hiatus. It was also my first time shooting with Isiah Maxwell. He was an incredible scene partner, and I’m so excited to see what we made together that day! Since returning, it was my second time with Kieran Lee’s crew (for Brazzers); they’re a super fun crew to work with. Lots and lots of laughs.
What do you enjoy most about being a pornstar?
Yhivi: Lately, what I have enjoyed most is how different each day is. Whether it’s the location, crew, talent, wardrobe, or script, I enjoy expecting something new and exciting each workday. At the same time, I’ve grown to understand that there’s always an underlying rhythm to tune into, and I’ve enjoyed honing my skills in that arena. And, of course, I can’t miss the chance to mention the incredible range of intimacy I get to experience. Whether it’s something soft and tender or rough and fast — it truly is a treat to have the opportunity to tap into so many different energies with my scene partners.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Yhivi: I plan to continue performing and, ideally, producing at a level I feel really proud of! Right now, I’m really focused on laying a solid foundation as a studio performer and building my own site, and I’d love to see my progress culminate in projects I’m super proud of.
What has surprised you the most since joining the industry?
Yhivi: Well, since it’s my second time around, I can’t say I’ve had any surprises — especially since I was incredibly thoughtful about my choice to return. But I am surprised at how quickly I got back into the flow of performing. I only see myself progressing as a performer, but I have given myself some grace and need some time to rev up while jumping back in. Overall, I’ve felt very comfortable back in the saddle. Some of that can be attributed to producing my own stuff for my sites, but a studio set can be pretty different, too. It requires a certain amount of skill and capacity to show up and make it a great day and a great scene. I now feel good at tapping back into that and improving upon it as well.
What's your favorite sexual position on & off camera & why
Yhivi: I have the same answer for both—whichever feels like the best fit for my sex partner(s) and me. Bodies are so different, and so is chemistry! So, it is really dependent on those variables.
Are there any sex acts that you want to shoot?
Yhivi: I’m not sure there is. My first go in the industry was pretty comprehensive. I’d like to do just about everything I did before at least once.
Which pornstar would you most like to work with?
Yhivi: I have a list that I’ve been working through. Most of my new scenes include performers I requested, especially the female ones!
What would you change about the adult industry?
Yhivi: First, I’ve re-established myself as an active member of the industry. That is a meaningful context, especially when I understand that my perspective is limited.
In my ideal world, more community would be established outside the public eye. From what I’ve experienced and observed, this sort of bubble effect takes place, but once the bubble gets too big, it pops. Somebody recently said getting our industry to work together toward a common goal is like trying to herd cats, and while I refuse to be apathetic or cynical, there is some truth to that. But hey, cats are cool. I’ve learned a lot about boundaries and autonomy from cats.
Has the stigma around the adult industry affected you?
Yhivi: Definitely!…
Are any sex acts taboo for you?
Yhivi: Age play and race play are hard nos for me.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?
Yhivi: If you have other safe options, choose those. If you don’t have other safe options, do your first job informing yourself on how to pursue this work best safely — body, mind, and spirit. The rewards can be high, but the lows can be, too. Establish a life for yourself beyond the industry if you don’t already, and make sure to tend to that part of your life, too.
Have you ever been grossed out during a shoot?
Yhivi: Yes. Focus on something else. lol
What hobbies & interests do you have outside of the adult industry?
Yhivi: Local ecologies, cooking, and music.
Do you use sex toys?
Yhivi: Vibrators and anal toys.
To date which porn scene are you most proud of?
Yhivi: I’m most proud of my showcase, “Yhivi Does It,” shot by Aiden Riley for Evil Angel. I really enjoyed working with Aiden — both before the showcase and during it. It was a lot of fun to ideate and lean into the nasty but playful tone we always seemed to find ourselves filming. And, in general, I’ve shot many great scenes since returning to the industry. I’ll be wrapping up shooting for Brazzers exclusively at the end of this month (March). I just feel so lucky to have returned with them — they really made a point to cast me with incredible performers (many who I requested), and I’ve been working with great directors and crews on scenes that are always absurdly fun and hot. That being said, I’m so so so excited to see what the rest of the industry has ready for me!
Do you watch porn? If so what type?
Yhivi: Mostly animated. I know too much about the live-action stuff.
If you were interviewing a pornstar what would you ask them? And answer this question for yourself.
Yhivi: How much does your performer persona overlap with you on a personal level? Has it always been this way? There’s always been a lot of overlap for me, though my adult persona is undoubtedly a lot more adult (sexually forward, that is). I’ve been very in touch with my sexuality since early adulthood, but what has changed for me of note both upon entering and returning to the industry is my self-confidence.
As much as I mean confidence in the context of how I carry myself externally, a lot of that change took place first and foremost internally for me.
I did a reasonably okay job of performing confidence in my early adulthood. Still, over the years, I’ve had to contend with the limits of feigned confidence, especially regarding performance.
It’s far less taxing for me to lean into the most extroverted and dynamic expressions of my being when I’ve already gone there and further on a personal level and I’ve already learned to tend to myself through the highs and lows of exposing so much of myself to the world.
I don’t want to put off that I have it all figured out, but it’s notable how different it feels to be back in the public eye on this scale, having grounded myself to the extent I’ve worked to. But my biggest lesson in this regard has been that it’s an ongoing practice. I’m still learning a lot about maintenance. So far, so good.
What turns you on?
Yhivi: Quiet confidence. A sense of humor. Humble intelligence.
Who would you like to nominate to answer these questions within the industry?
Yhivi: Ravyn Alexa, Nicole Vaunt, and Juliette March.
