Marica Hase: My name is Marica Hase and I became a Penthouse Pet in January 2013. I’ve been actively performing for 18 years and began my career as a mainstream model in Japan. And, I love all animals and food.
How did you create the name?
Marica Hase: I used to perform under the “Marica” without Hase when I was in Japan. But my American talent agency suggested that I should add a last name to it. Now, it sounds more Japanese and I get more work

What's the most difficult thing about being a pornstar?
Marica Hase: Thinking about future. We can’t do porn forever. We can’t guess how many scenes/jobs and money that we will get in the future. It makes it hard sometimes to financial plan. If you got sick tomorrow, you would have to quit. Many people don’t think about that. When you work in porn, it feels like a summer vacation or party that will last forever, but it doesn’t.
If you weren’t shooting adult videos what would you be doing?
Marica Hase: I’d still be a mainstream model.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?
Marica Hase: Please stop and think about what you’re doing and it’s not an easy path. Think about how having sex in front of a camera will change your life BEFORE you actually do it. Many people like your family and friends don’t understand the adult industry, and will hate you’re in it. To become a porn star is easy, but it’s very difficult to continue. If you stop only a few months in, you might leave with no money and also leave behind people who might actually understand you.
What hobbies & interests do you have outside of the adult industry?
Marica Hase: Reading books, playing video games working on my YouTube channel (a lot) and playing with my cats. I prefer to stay at home.
